David Petti - Dentist
As the doctor and the owner of my practice I found that the manuals helped all my staff define their jobs and what was expected of each and every position. They also helped break down the different areas of responsibility and gave the staff responsibility over these areas. I worked mainly on the General policy Manual, which helped clear up all of the main items a practice needs to provide to all the staff members from the viewpoint of the owner. It's what is expected of all the staff, the commitments the practice makes to its employees and what is expected from the employees in return. The provided outline made it very easy for me to put in the items that pertain to my practice and it was very complete.

Angie Petti - Office Manager
As the office manager of a general dental practice, I feel that the training manuals have helped out tremendously in working with new hires. Having a guide to follow really gives the employee responsibility and allows anyone new on post to come in off the street with no prior experience and know exactly what is expected of him/her. The General Policy Manual offers a book of information for employees to reference when they have questions concerning vacations, personal days, and various other office policies. For me, every manual is invaluable. Without them, training new employees would be a very tough task.

Wendy - Receptionist/Scheduling Coordinator
I have read two different training manuals – the Receptionist Manual and the Scheduling Coordinator Manual. Both are very clear guides of the Receptionist/Scheduling Coordinator position to help my efficiency and productivity. The Receptionist Manual is very helpful on how to talk to and to handle the patient. The Scheduling Coordinator Manual has been very beneficial for me to use as a guide on how to handle the patient, get them into the schedule as quick as possible, and how to track patients not yet scheduled for treatment or hygiene appointments. Being new at my position, it is convenient to have the manuals to reference when needed. In closing, I feel these manuals reflect the efficiency and productivity of the office and are great guides to have to reference to.

Christina - Dental Assistant
My Assistant's Manual helped me greatly when I first started in May of 2002. All of the procedures were laid out in the manual so I could refer to them when needed to see what was expected from me during each procedure. The General Policy Manual helps our office by serving as a go to guide for us to find answers to questions concerning vacations, days off, lunch hour, etc.

Jen - Dental Hygienist
The General Policy Manual serves as a guide for everyone in the office to help us follow the same rules and regulations and work as a team. It also helps any new hire by serving as a teaching manual. The Hygiene Manual serves as a reference guide for me so that I am able to follow specific policies as a hygienist.

Rachel - Dental Hygienist
In the past, at previous jobs, I found myself feeling confused about my job (dental hygiene) responsibilities as well as my co-workers responsibilities. Everyone would expect someone else to do his or her job. There was often a lot of negative talk floating about the office, as well as many unfinished tasks. On top of this, patients weren’t happy because they waited for a long time past their appointment time and felt rushed through their appointments. When I joined the team at this dental office, I was introduced to the policy manuals.

The self-study Hygiene Policy Manual directed and guided me through my training. It is still and always will be a very useful tool. Whenever I have a question I can refer to the manuals without interrupting the doctor or staff. With the implementation of these manuals, the atmosphere at our office is very organized and professional, because each staff member knows their responsibilities and we work together as a team. Patients see this immediately and they like it! I appreciate doing this "by the book." It makes my job stress-free.

Terry - Scheduling Coordinator
When I first began working at this dental office, I was notified that there were a few training manuals that I would need to read and complete in order to perform my duties as Scheduling Coordinator. I read the three manuals pertaining to my position and found each of them extremely helpful. By having the manuals to refer back to as many times as necessary, I knew there would be no ‘gray area’ as to what was expected of me.

The manuals clearly explained as to what policy was to be followed for specific areas of my job, leaving no room for error. I have worked at other dental offices prior to my employment at this dental office, and none of them had Policy Manuals, which made it difficult to know how my employer expected me to handle certain situations, and hindered me from performing up to my full potential. The manuals are a great help to me and I would recommend them to any office that wanted to implement a level of greater understanding for their staff.

Chairside Assistant
In the past two days I've been shown how to make my job and the practice better working in productive office. As an employee I can refer to the policy manual if I have any questions on how, what, or when I am supposed to do something and insure I did it correctly. Working here (with this training procedure) I have found respect as well as the direct answers to my questions without being avoided. The co-workers work together and are willing to teach one another. By taking these two days to clarify policies and what is expected of us leaves me to believe we are all out for the same thing- to grow, learn and make people/ each other happy.

Corin - Dental Assistant
Overall this program has helped me improve not only my assisting skills, but to make the practice all that it can be. This has really helped me to communicate with the patients better and answer any questions that may come up. I feel much more capable of doing my best possible job. I would definitely recommend this program to other practices!

Sharon - Receptionist
I now feel that I can do my job effectively and productively. I know what is expected of me, I know the proper forms to fill out for an emergency exam, I know how to handle an angry patient, I know the form for a new patient call in, and so on and so on! I think I can come in tomorrow and just do my job! I’ve never felt that way with a new job before!

Kimberlea - Dental Assistant
Getting familiar with my job as a dental assistant, I've learned a great deal of things. It has taught me how to develop a better relationship with the patients and how to communicate and understand these patients.

When certain situations (such as an upset patient) come along, I know I will be able to make the patient feel comfortable and will be able to keep the situation well in hand. It has also taught me that money isn't why we are doing our jobs. It helps, but the key ingredient is patient satisfaction and happiness. If you strive for that, the money will come!

Sheila - Dental Hygienist
This job description manual has been very beneficial to me. It has taught me to be the best at what I do and that there’s more to being the best hygienist than the technical aspect. Really caring about the patient is just as important as good dental hygiene care. The patient must come first – we need to reassure them, by our actions, that we do care. If they are satisfied with our services, they will be glad to send their friends, relatives, business associates, etc.

I have learned that if a patient isn’t sure about something, do not let him leave until he understands. You must make certain the patient understands whatever it is you’re doing. You can talk to a person and demonstrate, but does he really understand? This taught me that there are various steps to get a person to understand and I feel very confident that I can help the practice with this tool alone!

I have been a hygienist a little over a year and this course has helped me greatly!

Wanda - Collection Secretary
I have learned so much from this training. I want to be the best I can be at my job. I like my job and all the staff members and I’m willing to do my part and more. I know as a team we are going to be a big success! Now we have the rules to follow and specific descriptions of how things are done, so there are no excuses!

Stephen Turner - Dentist
I always wondered why training staff was such a frustrating and painful experience; usually resulting in more than a little confusion around the office. After using highly specific training manuals made especially for our office, I now know that the problem was that I had no idea how to go about it.

We have taken two completely inexperienced employees from total ignorance about dentistry to a level where I am confident they will be able to run my treatment department competently. I could have never dreamed this possible.

Sherry - Dental Assistant
I don't believe there is any other way I could have learned so much in such a short amount of time. All of the information in the job description manual was explained very well and easy to understand. I don’t think I could have been trained any better!

Emily - Dental Assistant
This job description manual has been very helpful to me in training for the assistant position. Before … it was just assumed that everything was being done correctly. Well, we assumed wrong! There were quite a few things that had to be corrected or a different technique used. We also discovered a few things that are imperative to running a smooth operation. I feel this will greatly improve my ability to perform my assistant duties.

Jean - Office Manager
Having this training in two days has probably saved me one to two months of work in doing it myself! The staff are all thinking together now and we can direct our efforts into expanding instead of training and then expand in the future. Already our stats look to be up over the previous week. That will put us in a new range! This program was very much needed!

J.W. - Staff Member
This has helped our office to establish guidelines (in black and white) which in turn helps us to establish our goals. It has also helped me to personally understand the functions of my position. I know that if I ever have a problem, I can go to my manual to clarify the problem.
